Event Details

Wow. Brighton. Summer. Sooooo. Every year we forget don’t we? We get alllll excited about the sunshine and the chips and the beer and the beach and forget that actually summer means sharing the town with crowds of be-penis-ed deely bobber wearing hen parties, twats named Steve dressed in morph suits, and actual bone fide idiots who think it’s totally okay to leave piles empty beer cans, food wrappers and other detritus on the beach. IT’S NOT OKAY, OKAY? It’s a well known fact that writers don’t like humans, so we’ve got the perfect place where you can hide from all the craziness and…

But it’s easier said than done, which is why these workshops exist.

You’ll spend the day in a room with a bunch of writers, limitless caffeine and no internet. We’ll help you set your personal writing goal for the day and longer term. We’ll talk about your successes and blocks. And then you write. And write. And write.

A score board, gold stars, general silliness and supportive competitiveness will help you reach your targets and break you out of your bad habits.

In short: space to write. Bliss.

Who is this for?

This workshop is perfect for people with a project in progress that has stalled or been put aside while life takes over, or those with an idea they want to make a big start on, or those who want to drink tea and eat biscuits and write some words in a fun, supportive environment.

Tea, coffee, biscuits

Where are you?

We’ll be at The Loft at Cornerstone Community Centre on Church Road in Hove. You can’t miss it, it’s the giant freakin’ church just as you get to Church Road travelling from Brighton.

It’s on a major bus route along Church Road between Hove and Churchill Square, Brighton (buses 1, 2, 5, 6, 25 and 49) and is 15 minutes walk from Hove mainline train station.

Parking is… well you know what parking is like in B&H…Norton Road Car Park is a five minute walk and is only a fiver for the day, or there’s on-street parking but tends to be expensive and only short stay.

(Saturday) 10:00 AM - 4:00 AM
