The Story Genius of Moana

If you’ve got (or have ever had) small children in the house, it’s likely you’ve watched and re-watched your fair share of animated movies, possibly to the point where you find yourself singing Frozen songs alone in the car or randomly quoting Finding Nemo at confused retail workers. And while the sixty-gazillionth viewing of the same […]

WRITING EXERCISE: Overheard Voices

writing exercise overheard voices

Dialogue! One writer’s bane, another’s best friend. Some characters are naturally chatty while others find it hard to string a sentence together. And do they always say what they actually mean? No they flipping well do not. Or, at least, they shouldn’t. To help you nail the talky-talk parts of your writing, here’s a sneak […]

Storycraft #6: Ramping Up The Action In Literary Fiction

AKA adventure time for lit ficAKA how conflict doesn’t have to be all FIGHTING AND EXPLOSIONS! Here’s a question we get a lot: “I’m writing literary fiction and nothing really happens – my characters are mostly just standing around talking to each other and thinking about the past – how do I inject a bit […]

Storycraft #1: Telling A Story

an open book on a dark background

Any fool can tell a story. Humans do it all the time: “Hey, you’ll never guess what happened to me on the way to work!” “Omg funny thing about the photocopier…” “Remember that time we woke up in a skip?” But there’s a difference between telling stories, and being A Storyteller. The Dos and Don’ts of Internal Monologuing

Read this before going to the forum!

The widget that lets you sign into the forum with your WHQ login has given up.

We are trying to coax it back into existence. So far neither bribery, begging or crying has worked. We are currently trying shaking our fists at the sky and going ‘grrrr’.

You can still get to the forum though! Do this:

  1. Click the button below
  2. On the forum login page, click reset password USING THE SAME EMAIL YOU USE FOR WHQ
  3. Click the link in the email and reset your password

IMPORTANT: This means you will have TWO (2) passwords/logins. One for the WHQ main site and one for the forum. It’s a pain in the arse. We’re sorry. It is temporary, but at least you can dick about on the forum again. OKAY BYE.

Confirm your place at The Dos and Don’ts of Internal Monologuing.

Once you hit the button, you’ll get a confirmation email, and we’ll send you the Zoom link an hour before the event.

Yayyyy! You've bagged a place at The Dos and Don’ts of Internal Monologuing.

Check your inbox for details.

If you don’t get an email, check your spam fist and then wang us a line on he**@**********co.uk and we’ll leap into action with keenness and speed.
