Apparently May was National Smile Month here in the UK. Launched back in 1977, it’s something to do with dentistry and Pam Ayres. But who cares? Beautifully brushed words have finding a home, that’s something for all of us to smile about.

Sarah Masters won the Propelling Pencil competition with her piece Mudlark.
Sarah McPherson made the WestWord’s Folktale Flash longlist.
Jane Mooney had a mentorship application accepted, and had her story All Change published in The Best of Cafe Lit 14. She also had her piece The Anniversary published by Funny Pearls.
Jude Potts was in this year’s Flash Flood with her story Octopus-Hearted and in the Flash Flood write-in with A Huckster’s How-To of Hustling Gulls She also had a story accepted by Underbelly Press.
