Come write with us! A day of uninterrupted writing, tea-drinking, and croissant eating. Set your goals, write your words, win gold stars. Bliss!

The best one-day writing retreat in brilliant Chichester

In need of time & space to write? Yeah, us too. Which is why we created our famously productive one-day writing retreats — to give writers the headspace and the writing space they need to let their words flow. A supportive environment + an endless supply of caffeine ‘n ‘snacks + gold stars for motivation + all the pep and encouragement you could ever need = the perfect set up for writing bliss. Our Chichester writing retreat is one of our most popular sessions, filled with like-minded creatives working on a whole heap of different and exciting projects. There’s no pressure — no awkward ice-breakers — just a safe place for you to write to your heart’s content. So get your butt down to Chichester Writers’ Retreat and let us help you get the words out (of your brain, not your butt).

Directions

Chichester City Arts Centre is in Mount Lane just south of Westgate about 200 metres from the roundabout at the end of West Street and Avenue de Chartres. There is no parking on site or in Mount Lane (except for vehicles with a valid Disabled Certificate), but there is plenty of on street parking close by. The West Gate Leisure Centre 3 minutes away has 2 hours free parking. Other city centre car parks are no more than 5 minutes away.

Accessibility

If you have any additional needs, please let us know when you book so we can help to accommodate you. The venue is accessible with access to a disabled toilet.

Anything else?

Writers’ HQ retreats are strictly no sharing events! We want you to focus on writing your story instead of getting anxious about other people reading it. There is no workshopping or taught element to the retreats. It’s just about the writing.
Your host for these shenanigans...
Allegra Chapman is an author, columnist and AuDHD dissident. As a creative therapy practitioner and coach, she champions neurodivergent and disabled writers, supporting them to build productive and sustainable creative practices that suit their needs. You can find her writing and creative tools at yourcreativefix.substack.com. Her latest book, Divergent Creatives, is out now.

Bag your place on Chichester Writers’ Retreat

Read this before going to the forum!

The widget that lets you sign into the forum with your WHQ login has given up.

We are trying to coax it back into existence. So far neither bribery, begging or crying has worked. We are currently trying shaking our fists at the sky and going ‘grrrr’.

You can still get to the forum though! Do this:

  1. Click the button below
  2. On the forum login page, click reset password USING THE SAME EMAIL YOU USE FOR WHQ
  3. Click the link in the email and reset your password

IMPORTANT: This means you will have TWO (2) passwords/logins. One for the WHQ main site and one for the forum. It’s a pain in the arse. We’re sorry. It is temporary, but at least you can dick about on the forum again. OKAY BYE.
