Stuffing your story into a hero’s journey or an Aristotelian arc can feel like pushing feet into tights after you’ve swum. They catch between your toes, they ladder, they’ve shrunk or you’ve swollen, they just don’t fit. It’s not the tights fault, they slide on at other times. Maybe today you just need to be barefoot. In this workshop we will:
- Explore traditional vs experimental novel structures
- Do an exercise to see what structure your novel is predominantly using
- Examine the possibilities that arise when you start to change things
