Want some cash-money to write for six months? YES REALLY

A few times a year, the Arts Council England opens up applications for creative practitioners (including writers!) to apply for a DYCP (developing your creative practice) grant. These grants give artistic-type folk money to develop, explore and work on their craft. If you’re thinking of applying, or you’re curious about what the grant is, come along to this workshop. Find out if you’re eligible, how and when to apply, how much you can apply for, what you can use the funding for, ask your questions, and get top tips from someone who’s been there, done that, got the grant!

Katie Holloway has never been able to help being a writer. She has a BA in English Literature with Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, and after accidentally taking a decade-long break from writing, discovered flash fiction through Writers’ HQ in 2021. Since then, she’s been shortlisted in the 2024 Bath novella-in-flash award, won the 2023 Retreat West flash fiction prize, has received a DYCP grant from the Arts Council England, and has been nominated for the Pushcart prize and Best Small Fictions.
